Former Manchester United legend and England football team hero Sir Bobby Charlton dies at the age of 86 years.

Charlton, an England international, won the World Cup for his country in 1966 and played for Manchester United for most of his careers and in which he claimed three Domestic Championships and a European Cup.
Charlton then got engaged as the manager at Old Trafford and he was knighted in June nineteen ninety four. He had been wearing United shirt when he survived the Munich air disaster that claimed the lives of eight of his fellow club mates in 1958. By Ryan Giggs.
Charlton played 341 games for the club and netted 249 goals, a record which was broken by Rooney in October, 2012 and also became England’s top scorer with 49 goals until Rooney overtook him in September 2015.

Charlton played for England in the world cup Finals alongside his brother Jack who passed on in July 2020, the two were part of the team that won the cup. He began the tournament for the team at the age of 28 and appeared in the starting line-up of the six matches of their home tournament and score three goals of which he did two in the semi-final against Portugal. Charlton also represented his country in the 1962 and 1970 World Cups and was also selected in the party for the 1958 finals.
At the time, Charlton retired from the international football in the year 1970, he was holder of the record of 106 caps of England. This position makes him rank 7 th at the current British football legend that is headed by Peter Shilton at 125.
Full name Robert Charlton, the player was born on the 13th of October 1936 in Ashington, Northumberland Charlton started off with United as an apprentice in 1953, featuring in the first team three years later though he did not become a regularization in the first team until the first half of 1957.
I have found out that he scored twice in a 3–3 match against the Red Star Belgrade in February 1958 from which United was on the way back when disaster struck in Munich. At 20, Charlton was fortunate to have suffered only relatively serious injuries which put the death toll count at 23 including eight Busby Babes and Charlton was back to playing in a month.
