Athletes or breakers go against each other in 1 vs 1 battles and perform many spectacular and surprising moves or throw downs to show their talent.
A battle usually consists of a certain number of sets from all the breakers. Most major competitions like Red Bull BC One have two or three throw downs until the final, which consists of three or five throw downs.
Apart from this, each throw down cannot be longer than 60 seconds, but the breaker does not receive any punishment for performing for too short or too long.
Each battle is judged in front of a panel of judges, usually experts from the break dancing community.
