Helicopter Crash in Malaysia
During a military parade exercise, the tragedy occurred when two Malaysian Navy copters flying in formation collided in mid-air. The collision resulted in the loss of 10 crew members on board. Video footage from local media showed one aircraft clipping the rotors of the other before the two helicopters crashed to the ground. The incident occurred at 09:30 local time (02:30 BST) in Lumu, Malaysia, where a Royal Malaysian Navy base is located. Sadly, no one survived the accident.
“Upon arrival, all victims were confirmed dead, and their remains were transferred to Lumut Military Hospital for identification,” the Royal Malaysian Navy said. The Navy has also announced the formation of a committee to investigate the cause of the incident. According to reports, a helicopter, a HOM M503-3 carrying seven people, is suspected to have crashed on a moving track. Another helicopter, a Fennec M502-6 with three passengers, crashed into a nearby swimming pool.
The state Fire and Rescue Department received notification of the incident at 09:50 local time (01:50 GMT). Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, mourned the tragedy in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying, “The nation is saddened by the heart-wrenching and soul-wrenching tragedy. Condolences and prayers to all the families of the victims. Strength to overcome this calamity.” for.”

The second helicopter crashed into the swimming pool.
One of the helicopters that collided was a HOM M503-3. There were 7 people on board. The second Fenech M502-6 helicopter had 3 people on board. This helicopter had fallen into the swimming pool after the crash. All those killed were crew members on board the helicopter.
The Royal Malaysian Navy has said that all the victims died on the spot. The bodies have been sent to Lumut’s military hospital for identification. It has been told that a committee will be formed to investigate the causes of the incident.

There have been many incidents of helicopter crashes in Malaysia before. A Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) helicopter crashed near Pulau Angsa in Selangor during a rescue drill on March 5. 2 people including the pilot were killed in this accident.
