Nut Milk Overviews
Making your own almond milk at home is a fun and rewarding process. Not only is it affordable, but you can also customize the taste and consistency to your liking. Here’s a simple guide on how to make almond milk:
Choose your nuts:
You can use different nuts like almonds, cashews, walnuts or hazelnuts. Raw almonds work best.
Soak the almonds:
Place almonds in a bowl and cover with water.
Let them soak overnight (or at least 6 hours). This softens the nuts and makes them easier to mix.
Drain and rinse:
After soaking, drain the nuts and rinse well under cold water.
Mix with water:
In a blender, combine the soaked almonds with fresh, filtered water.
The general ratio is 1 cup almonds to 3-4 cups water, but adjust based on your desired thickness.
Strain the almond milk:
Use an almond milk bag, fine mesh strainer, or cheesecloth to strain the blended mixture.
Strain out the liquid leaving the nut pulp behind.https

Transfer the strained almond milk to a glass container and refrigerate.
Shake well before use, and enjoy it with coffee, cereal or as a refreshing drink!
