Pareshnath Jain Temple

A centuries-old Jain temple is located on Vadridas Temple Street near Gauribari, ahead of Maniktala. Four together. The main temple is Shitalnathji. Chandraprabhuji temple is on the right side of it. There are two other temples near it, Dadawadi and Mahavir Swami Temple. A huge gate at the entrance to the main temple. A landscaped garden upon entering. At a glance, what I see! Beautiful marble work, flower beds, fountains all around. Fish are playing in the clear water.

The colorful stone and mirrored Shitalnathji Temple will remind you of the Shismahal of a Rajasthani fort. Badridas Bahadur Mukim established the temple in 1867 in memory of Jain Tirthankar Parsvanath. Chandraprabhuji Temple is also quite ancient. Dadaji Mandir is entirely made of white marble. Next to it, the architecture of Mahavir Swami temple is also not less admirable.

Magen David Synagogue

Near the junction of Canning Street and Brabourne Road is the synagogue. Named Magen David Synagogue. Such a beautiful synagogue is rare in the whole East. Entering inside, it seems that the noise of the city does not reach here. This is a place of great peace. The architecture of the synagogue is also beautiful to behold. The colored glass pieces on the windows and roof let in the sun’s rays to create an enchanting atmosphere. The high place in the middle of the great hall is for prayer.
