Kolkata: The opening of the WBCS exam is changing. Public Service Commission is bringing major changes in the West Bengal Civil Service Examination from 2025. A notification has already been issued in this regard. where clear
West Bengal Civil Services (WBCS) exam pattern is changing from 2025. The question paper will change after opening. The Public Service Commission has already issued a notification in this regard.
There is no change in WBCS exam in 2024. The preliminary and main exam will be held on the old syllabus. However, from the year 2025, the pattern of short questions will change. Instead, the candidates have to write the details much like the UPSC exam.
According to sources, there will be two papers from 2025. GS, or General Studies Paper, and GS Paper Two. Each paper will have full marks of 200. The time limit for each case is two hours.

WBCS Exam 2025: GS Paper One ‘A’ will have subjects like General Science, National International Importance, History of India, English Composition, Indian Policy and Economic, Indian National Movement, Geography, and General Mental Ability.
On the other hand, students need to secure 33 percent marks in GS Paper Two. These include interpersonal skills, decision-making and problem solving, logical and analytical ability, and secondary or equivalent level marks.
There will be two parts in the syllabus of mens from 2025. Candidates have to pass one step. The marks of the other part will be added to the merit list. The full marks in paper or first part are 300. The time limit is three hours. In case of Paper ‘B’ or Part II also, the time will be three hours. Apart from this, there are eight more papers, all of which will be descriptive.
WBCS Exam 2025:-For WBCS Group ‘A’ or ‘B’, Paper One to Eight Papers of Men’s will have to appear. In all, the full value of Mens will be 2000. This exam is from Paper One to Paper Six for WBCS Group ‘A’ or Group ‘B’. In the case of the concerned, the optional test is not required.
Paper ‘A’ will have either Nepali or Bengali. This will include report writing press, composition, English to Bengali translation or English to Nepali translation, composition, and letter writing. So that minimum 30 percent should be obtained.
WBCS Exam 2025:-Paper ‘B’ is English only. The examination in this paper will be similar to the Madhyamik or equivalent examination. Vocabulary checking, essay or report writing, press. A minimum of 30 percent must be obtained for passing.
Paper One has an English essay and composition; Paper Two has Bengali art and culture. Paper three consists of history and geography. Paper four has Current Affairs, GK, General Science and Tech, and Computer. Paper Five contains Indian Economy and Policy; Paper Six contains Arithmetic and Reasoning; and Papers 7 and 8 are two optional papers.
WBCS Exam 2025:-In the case of the personal test, Group A and Group B have full marks of 200. For Group C and Group D, the values are 150 and 100. The merit list will be published on the basis of 2200 marks for both Group A and Group B. 10650 in the case of Group C and 1600 in the case of Group D merit list will be published based on full marks.
