It has been told that the speed of strong winds in South Bengal can reach up to 70 km per hour. Heavy to very heavy rain warnings have been issued, especially in Hooghly, East Medinipur, West Medinipur, Jhargram, Purulia, Bankura, East and West Burdwan, and Birbhum districts.

Out of these, red alerts have been issued in East and West Medinipur and Bankura. Along with this, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour in Kolkata city and surrounding districts like North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Howrah, and Hooghly. Heavy rain is also expected in Darjeeling, North Dinajpur, and Malda of North Bengal, along with South Bengal. Along with this, the possibility of thunderstorms has been expressed in other northern districts. The Meteorological Department has said that strong winds can blow at a speed of 50–60 km per hour in the coastal areas of West Bengal.
