Joe Biden
Dusty Baker took over as Houston Astros manager has reached 73, and last year when the team won still campaigning to have played in his first World Series. President Joe Biden joked he could empathize with the players at a White House party for their accomplishment on Monday.
“Folks counted you out declaring that you have been over the hill, but THE HILL has now decided on all of our destinies! ” Hell, I know a little bit about that,” Biden quipped in reference to himself at the ripe old age of 77 becoming one of no less than seven shutdown presidents. Biden, who is now 80, has not announced whether or not he will seek another term in 2024.
Baker has been in the game since forever. He captured a World Series title as an infielder with the Los Angeles Dodgers
and had been to the Fall Classic two times as manager. He only won his maiden title in his twenty-fifth season when he was a manager. It was 20 years since a near-miss when he was one five outs from achieving the feat while managing the San Francisco Giants.
“I recall sitting there as a young boy and cheering for him and I was older,” Biden said in another instance.
Baker, who is 74 now, was hired by the Astros from the Washington Nationals three seasons prior to give the team a new face following the sign-stealing scandal that led to the firing of manager A.L Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow and the tarnishing of the entire Houston’s reputation in baseball.
As any other candidate would like it, Baker, like Biden, is currently working on a repeat stating that he intends to do it again and be back in the White House next year.NBA draft 2023: Surprises, winners and losers from the first round
To celebrate him as the 46th president of the United States, the team gave Biden an ordinary jersey with the number 46. The MLB trophy was taken during the ceremony that was held in the East Room where the team also took a team photo.
The Astros clinched the championship last year against Philadelphia Phillies, National League’s team which is favourite among the first lady Jill Biden. It has become more of a joking matter lately as the president recently stated that he has to support the Phillies if he wants not to sleep alone. Even, he joked on Monday that he will hardly be able to step his foot in Philadelphia again more so after hosting the Astros.
